Psalm 103:13 –

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.

Parenting a child who is experiencing the pain of gender dysphoria can be terribly stressful, isolating and confusing. You feel their pain and you want to alleviate it, but their pain and struggle also gives you pain. You desperately want to love your children well, but sometimes it’s hard to know what to do to best help them with their struggles. It can also be incredibly painful for parents when a child decides to pursue a trans identity or dress as the opposite sex. This can almost feel like losing the child you thought you knew. But more painful than this is when parents disagree with their child’s decision, and the child may view this as rejection rather than love. Friends, relatives, and teachers may also judge parents for their failure to affirm the trans identity. Parents in these hard situations need care, compassion, support, guidance, and most of all, prayer.

We have a private email-based prayer group for parents who have children who struggle with crossdressing, gender dysphoria, or sissy hypnosis, or children who have chosen a trans identity. This is a group primarily targeting parents, but concerned relatives and friends are also welcome to join. If you fill out the form and questions below, we will add you to the group. (We suggest creating an anonymous Gmail account first).

This is an explicitly Christian group where the main focus is on Jesus. However, you are still very welcome to join even if you are not a Christian. Whenever you want immediate prayer or caring support, you can just send a note to the group. This group is also a way to get thoughtful advice and encouragement. The goal is fellowship and mutual support among parents going through the same journey. We would like to give you the support you need.

In Christ,
Barnabas
